Unfinished Sympathy- Massive Attack: Analysis

Unfinished Sympathy- Massive Attack: Analysis Mise En Scene Camera shots / angles The director uses a tracking shot in the music video as it follows her down the street, to show the street around her and what it is like.He has done this so that it make the audience feel like they are following her down the street, and also to make you feel as it you are also seeing what is going on, The use of different people/ 'extras' may suggest that the director was trying to get across different messages. (For example the stereotypical 'gang' with a 'vicious' dog may be trying to get an authoritative message across.  (To show that they are in charge etc). Lighting In the music video natural lighting/daylight is used to show that the video is real and that it is how the street actually looks, apposed to using lighting in a studio. Settings The music video was set on a street as it shows the realism of the street and what people are like. The majority of ...

Advertising: Old Spice Analysis

Image
Advertising: Old Spice Analysis Old Spice: Who does the advertisement appeal to? How do you know this? The poster advertisement applies to men. This has been showed through the companies catch phrase 'Smell like a man, man'. It is also shown as a male product, as there is a man holding the product. The 'Old Spice' vintage television advert is aimed at older men, for example (fathers and grandfathers). We can tell this, as the only actors in the advert are men. The 'sirens/mermaids' swimming towards the ship may symbolise that women are attracted to the men who wear this brand of aftershave. The use of the ship logo and the product being for men may have a link, as sailors used to believe that it was seen as being bad luck for women to be aboard a ship. So the aftershave is only advertised for men because women should not have it. The 1970's Old Spice advert is aimed again at older men, as the advert is of a man (who is surfing). The use...

Title Sequence Pitch

Image
Title Sequence Pitch FALLEN 'Its the root of all evil' Description of title sequence: In our title sequence we have put the main focus on an image of a tree, which is the fundamental focus of the television series. The tree possesses long roots to manifest the idea that the tree had been there for myriad years. The house, which is beyond the tree out of focus is used to show link between each of them to the owners of the house. Each leaf shown in the title sequence (That is blowing away/falling from the tree) represents the deaths that have happened, and the deaths that are yet to happen. As the shot pans downwards to show the ends of the roots, dripping blood is shown, this again links with the plot of the drama series (The tree that kills when it looses a leaf).  The 'red' blood is used to manifest the death aspect of the show, and also to show what is killing the people (The leaves). Evaluation: 1. What Media Language have you used in your tit...
