Which companies own regional newspaper titles? Look at newspapers that you may be familiar with such as The Leicester Mercury.
Trinity Mirror newspaper owns The Leicester Mercury newspaper, however they also own the Daily Mirror, Sunday mirror and the Sunday people.

 Do any of these companies own other media outlets? How does this link to Hesmondhalgh's ideas on Cultural Industries (see below)?
Newspaper companies for example 'Trinity Mirror' owns multiple newspapers around England. (The Leicester Mercury, The Daily Mirror, The Sunday Mirror). Due to one person owning multiple media outlets their opinions will be spread all over the news. This then means that people will become a subject to bias opinions on things.
Why do you think ownership is something to be concerned about in the UK? Use Curran and Seaton's Power and Media Industries to explore this idea in your post.

Curran and Seaton's theory shows that companies that own large amounts of media outlets can possibly affect the way people believe certain things. It will brainwash the audience and more people will become more bias.

1) they promoted it using social media platforms like snapchat, which had a filter that potential audiences could use and share with their friends. Competitions were ran and the jungle book themed prizes were advertised.  The film also  had a Super Bowl ad placement and a 3D preview in auditoria before the Star Wars movie. 2) social media was vital to the JB becoming a good film. Traditional methods like ‘word of mouth’ was used to advertise the film. Stranger things Both films have a scene where the kids are on a bike Both films include aliens Stranger things: Age analysis In the first clip of stranger things, the representation of age is shown through camera shots to show the stereotype of adults. A low angled shot was used where the adult (mum) was on the top of the stair and the children were at the bottom of them. The viewer was looking up at the adult with the children to the child's perspective. This shot was used to symbolize the authority and power of the adult. Over the shoulder shots were also used to show the child in between the adults (His mother and his father), this also shows the adults dominance over the children. The boy tries to ask his dad something but he tells him to 'listen to his mother' The mother/adults are also being responsible, as they send the kids home when it gets too late. Stranger things: Character description Joyce Byers Joyce is a major character, she is Will Byers mum who reports her son missing to Jim Hopper She conforms to the single parent stereotype, as she has to work long ours to support her family, as well as her eldest son having to work, to also help pay for things. Erratic, wants to find will, doesn't sleep, works hard She is Will's mum and reports him missing. She is constantly looking for him and doesn't stop until she finds him. Jim Hopper Jim is a major character, as he is the sheriff of the town. He is in charge of the missing persons case (Will Byers). He conforms to the stereotype of the male gender.. lazy, negative, not emotional however, on the other hand he is the stereotype of a sheriff and initiates a search party for Will.
