- How have they used font and layout to engage an audience?
They have used layout of the text of the left and the image on the right so that you can clearly see who is advertising the product and what the catchphrase of the product is. The font they have used is in a large text, this has been used to shift your focus so that you can see the catchphrase and then look at the image, as the colour of the text is bright and stands out more, where as the image of Gareth Bale is dull, and doesn't stand out as well.
- How does the angle of the camera shot engage an audience.
The camera shot engages the audience, as the model is staring straight at the camera, which may suggest that he is looking at the potential buyer/audience. This may have the affect of making the audience want to buy the product. The male model may have been used to show that if you drink this drink, then you may be as successful as Gareth Bale who has been used in this advert.
- How does "In a different league" contribute to meaning?
The phrase 'in a different league' relates to the football league and other sports leagues. This type of Lucozade drink is a sports drink, therefore the phrase is used to bring both of the things together to make people who do some type of sports to drink the sports drink.
- The direction given by the photographer to Gareth Bale in the image.
Gareth Bale was told to look directly at the camera with no expression in this advert. This has been done to try and get the audience to believe that if you drink this particular drink then you will become successful like him.
- How have they used of lighting?
Lighting has been used to create a shadow on the right hand side of his face. The lighting has been used like this to define his facial features more and to make him stand out against the blue background.
- Why have they chosen blue for a background?
The blue background links with the colour of the bottle and logo itself. This particular blue is used so that if you see the colour again then you will remember the advert and therefore want to buy the product.
- How has the above factors contributed to representing their product?
Lucozade's product has been represented by using colours that will make their product memorable as well as using a sports man that will also be remembered by the audience. This then allows the customers to remember who featured in their advert therefore them wanting to purchase the product.
